 If
last year was any indication of what to expect in the annual Quilt
Show then everyone is sure to see some great work again this year. Following
the 2005 festival two very diligent quilt groups, consisting of
Barnesville residents, presented the Quilt Show idea to the Potato
Days Board of Directors and what a fantastic idea it was.
For this premiere event there were more than 50 beautiful, handmade
quilts or wall hangings on display. It was a tough choice for all
individuals that were able to stop by and cast their votes. All
entries presented impressive craftsmanship and after tallying all
votes the People’s Choice Award was presented and the winning
quilt is shown here.
There is no charge for the show held at Hildebrand Hall, north of
Assumption Church, on Friday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. and again
on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. However, on Saturday
the Chocolate Festival will also be held in the same building and
there is a $5 charge for that event.
