'Country
Critters' to make return appearance
at 2007 Potato Days Festival
Frank and Fred Thompson, twin brothers from Baker,
Minn. will again be demonstrating their skill at chainsaw carving
at this year’s Potato Days celebration.
They have spent their lives farming together and now are sharing
a unique hobby - carving bears, pelicans, eagle, loons, swans,
parrots, moose, benches and “Spuds," among other things. They
use chainsaws to carve their creations out of pine logs. They
are willing to try most any request – they love a challenge! The
largest thing they have carved is a 9 ft. bear that stands at a
ND lake.
They carve at least one item during the Festival and their “Country
Critters” are on display and available during the Potato
Days Festival.
